REFORESTATION

 REFORESTATION

Becouse of bureaucracy in the Czech Republic, it was difficult to carry out reforestate in the true sense of the word.
Because one of the partner country is in a different climate zone than our republic, we decided to "reforest" our school by subtropical plants - "Spanish plants".

Let me introduce a little bit this partner shool. Some of our Comenius friends - teachers visited green houses and small botanic garden.

The school is focused on traditional training in horticultural and agricultural production and services. Teaching at the oldest agricultural college in our country was started November 12, 1850.

In the main building there is a school with tribal and specialized classrooms, youth hostels, modern dining room with kitchen, gym, library, cabinets teachers and the Secretariat. The school is part of a closed complex, which also includes workshops, horticultural-agricultural education center, horse stables and a riding club that students can attend, a large park.
This area bordered by botanical gardens and greenhouses consisting park, school store, and ornamental fruit orchards.
Part of the university is a driving school and leisure activities station named Daisy, which focuses on work with children of primary school and extracurricular activities.

Partner school Libverda welcomed our students and helped them to plant cuttings and seeds of subtropical plants.

Pupils listened and fulfilled the instructions they received, step by step :)

Some needed a helping hand, others did it ourselves.

Thaks to our partner school for their help and patient approach, always pleasure to cooperate there.

These plants already beautifully decorate each classes in our school. We like it :)

LIVE BUTTERFLY GARDEN

LIVE BUTTERFLY GARDEN

We would like to watch the miracle of metamorphosis in our own classroom and this offers children the invaluable lessons of metamorphosis, science, patterns, patience and life cycle.

Children put five caterpillars to a clean plastic cup together with nutrious food they need.
They placed them to safe but visible place away from direct sunlight.
Later on the caterpillars grow ten times their original size.

After seven o ten days will the caterpillars will hang upside down and harden into chrysalides/pupael.

Then they chrysalides gently moved to the pop-up butterfly habitat. And the butterfly house was for kids especially for the small one like a film in cinema

They were lovely coloured and there was not the only child that butterflies seen, admired.

We waited together, the whole school, warm day, we could jointly launch butterflies. These common activity attuned to them to other friendly projects.

Younger children were sad that  butterfliers were leaving us.

SPRING GARDENING

SPRING GARDENING

Among the priority of our school is included school garden, where we managed to build an outdoor classroom, educational banners and a small garden pond

We also work on fields with season vegetable and herb corner. They need to adjust each spring. This year, students planted seedlings of sunflowers and tomatoes, turnip cabages. The seeds of sprouted beans and pods.

Our vegetable were quite small, it didn´t grow to much, but it was very tasty and ours :)

EASTER IN DĚČÍN

EASTER IN DĚČÍN

Another interesting period for making decorations using natural materials is Easter.

Among the products of nature have emerged: nuts, paper flowers, eggshells, snail shells, stones, beechnuts, seashells,
colored feathers ...

The girls also used "artificial" materials - bows and ribbons.

Easter wreath made by little pupils are really very good, try to have look at the photographs. Do you like them?

WE DO :)

There are two great symbols of Easter for chzech people:
...the boys came out with a willow wands to whip the girls to banished them from disease and laziness.

... and then they were given painted eggs and candy from girls.

Every year we celebrate Easter together with the parents of our students. Also this year we were invited them to join us to welcome the spring.

Farmers markets, where pupils 'sell' their products and hosts them with food and drink that they have prepared themselves.

AUTUMN NATURAL WREATH

AUTUMN NATURAL WREATH

Creation of decorative wreaths became a favourite activity of our younger pupils, the first year in autumn made wreaths from natural products.

There were chestnuts, acorns, beechnuts, nuts, leaves, heather, rowan, pumpkins...

Work is entertaining, they enjoyed every minute. Eventually they prepared a small exhibition: They invited older classmates, they praised their work applause. Wreaths children took home where joy did their mothers.

... do you like them?

... we do :)

World Day Eco

How did we celebrat this day?
The international Eco-school program currently involves more than 25 000 schools in 52 countries on several continents.

What have we done?
We decided to celebrate the World Day of Eco improving the environment. So we started the spring garden work ... after a few lessons we have in the garden raked leaves, cleaned rock garden, pruning branches on the trees, during the moments of relaxation, we can view our educational boards and explore what is new here.

Our school garden we prepared to welcome spring and we certainly again
at least slightly improve its appearance. We were dirty and our hands hurt us, but we enjoyed it very much. That day we enjoyed together with our friends. We are glad that we joined the many other schools that are trying to change the world around them for the better.

What are we planning to do?
In the future, we will care for school pond, which is still working, we also want to create a garden, insect hotel and see what is new in it and we must not forget the regular care of our fruit trees, which each class planted, of course.
