CHILDREN OF YEAR 4 WERE DISCOVERING HOW LIGHT CAN BE TRANSFORMED INTO SEVERAL COLOURS.

LATER CHILDREN DID THEIR REPORTS.

Learning to use the microscope

We were really surprised looking the parts of a flower under the microscope. There are more things that you can see with the naked eye!!!

AFTWER THREE WEEKS THE COVERED LEAF WAS DRIED AND THE REST OF LEAVES WERE PERFECT

                        BUILDING AN ELECTROMAGNET

Children of year 6 made a experiment. it consist of.....



We used:
- A screwdriver with a plastic handler insulated wire.
- 4-5 volt battery.
-Sticky tape
-A ruler
-Steel paperclips.
-Wire strippers or scissors.

1. Cut about 30cm from one end of your wire, stick the wire to the base of the scrredriver´s handle, where it meets the blade with a piece of tape.

2. Wrap the wire tighty around the metal bladeof the screwdriver 60 times. Use stick tape around the last turn to hold it securely in place.

3. leave a lenght of 30 cm. Then cut the wire. Ask an adult to  remove the insulation from the last 2-3 cm. Then strip the same amount off the end attached to the handle.

4. Connect one end of the wire to one terminal of the battery and the other end to the battery´s other terminal.

5. Touch the end of the screwdriver blade to some paper clips.
How much can it pick up?

conclussions
Screwdriver becomes a magnet when the current is switched on. When the electricity flows ot produces a magnetic field..
When the current is turne off, the magnetism dissapears.

DYING CARNATIONS

WE DYED CARNATIONS. 

FIRSTLY WE  POUR INK IN A GLASS AND STIRED THE INK WITH THE WATER

WE INTRODUCED THE CARNATION INTO THE COLOURED WATER

 FEW HOURS LATER THE WHITE CARNATIONS WERE GREEN

EVAPORATION

You need:

-          A glass of water

-          Markers

-          Salt

Put a glass full with salty water and mark the level, then wait and observe what happens.
