WHAT COLOUR IS CHLOROPHYLL?

Also 3rd class pupils participated into 

COMENIA EXPERIMENTS. 

During elementary science lesson they were trying to figure out, how does the chlorophyll look like? Children already know, green dye is an essential part of each plant.That is part of the chemical reaction known as photosynthesis. Is chlorophyll really green? Can be in a different color? Let´s try answerd the question with the help of our teacher. We examineted whether the spinach leaves contain chlorophyll and water or not. We used: fresh spinach plants, glass, rubber band filter paper / bag, a piece of gauze. We vortexed fresh spinach. Filter paper placed in a glass and strengthened it with a rubber band. Pureed spinach we put into gauze and squeeze over the filter paper.

We have prepared spinach leaves.

We torned leaves to pieces.

We rinsed jars.

We vortexed spinach.

We squeezed through gauze chlorophyll.

Can you see? It is really green :)
