SOIL - our youngest

First graders are exploring content of the soil

Before the children began to research find out, what all can the soil contain. We have tried to answer this question together. One part of children made up questions that should say, what we already know, the other part of pupils think up question, saying what would we like to learn next.

After that we were divided into groups there we were painting and recording our knowledge into prepared worksheets.
During these experiments we found that the soil contains stones, sand, dead animal bodies, parts of plants, water and air.

Two hours of experiments quickly ended, we sat together and shared our findings, we responded to the questions that we had at the beginning of our research for themselves invented.

Filling worksheets abou our results.

Forming the conceptual map.

Sieving the soil through a strainer.

Mixing the soil with water.

Soil clods thrown into the water.
