Amateur weather station

We decided to explore one of the natural elements – water.

During one month we will collect rainwater that falls on the territory of our school garden. For this activity we made amateur rain gauges using instructions we found on the website of amateur weather station in Decin. It was´nt a complicated job, we need bottles, scissors, garden shovel, good mood and energy.

Each class made their own  rain gauge, which was placed on varying parts of the garden:
  • closer to the building
  • away
  • to leeward

  • to the freshly planted trees ...

At the same time we have teams that control our activities on the Internet and compared with information gathering water weather station in our place of residence.

Another activity was to investigate the collected rainwater, PH, acidity. We used microscopes,
laktus´ papers.

All of us fairly collected and written information down.

To the end whole activity about water we are going to presenting our results.

We are also looking forward to the middle of December when we are going to prepare together with our teachers for younger school mates project day about the issue of natural disasters - floods :)
