Older students held a project day for their younger classmates, For the first thy tried to discous what information about electricity do they know, what are they interested about. And than they started to introduced with different types of power stations.
Classes were divided into three departments.The first group of student worked with wind power and generation of electricity by wind power is the most common options in the surrounding and in the Czech Republic in general. The children listened to a brief presentation and saw a virtual tour of a wind power station.They were shown a model wind turbine designed by older pupils.
At the second group was a presentation of various types of water stations and their structures. Pupils were again allowed to pass through a virtual tour, hear a brief presentation and be able to try water wheel.
At the third site, the children were introducing with thermal and nuclear power station and its components. Here, the students watched a functional model of a steam engine which powered a generator of direct current. Again, they went through a virtual tour of a thermal power station and listen to a brief presentation.
At each groups there were prepared worksheets. Children could thus consolidate the acquired knowledge.
Within this project, some students visited a thermal power station TuĊĦimice.
Small children were worthy of a listen:) In Tusimice it was beautiful and we learned a lot of information.
