Year 6 in Bristol have been studying space, and have had lots of fun finding out about planets, gravity and much more. However, our highlight was trying to make our own air-powered rockets.
To do this we had to consider the forces that would act on the rocket, including gravity and air resistance. We refined our designs to make sure they could travel as far as possible, and then it was time for the launch.

We tested some rockets powered by various gases first. |
We had a template to work from, but had to make our own decisions about how to make the rockets. |
