In Parson Street Year 2 we have just started to look at different states - liquids, solids and gases. To begin this unit we carried out an investigation about how long it takes for an ice lolly to melt in different places around school.
First we weighed the ice lollies to see how much ice there was.
Then we placed the ice lollies at different places around the school.
We then went on to learn about how atoms are bonded together differently in solids, liquids and gases - but unfortunately didn't get to eat any of the ice lollies!

Then we placed the ice lollies at different places around the school.
After 30 minutes, we weighed them all again, to see how much ice was left.
At the end, we noted down what we had found out.
